Hunter rotor lines compared

Hunter builds a rotor for every yard size, from a compact 1/2-inch body to a long-throw 3/4-inch gear drive. Match the line to your zone radius and inlet, then standardize nozzles across the zone.

The PGP Ultra and the I-20 share the same 34-nozzle rack, so one set of nozzles covers both. For 1/2-inch zones on smaller lawns, step down to the PGJ.

Hunter Gear-Drive Rotors

Hunter’s gear-drive rotors cover the residential-to-sports-turf range. The PGP Ultra family (3/4 in inlet) handles standard residential zones; the I-20 steps up for larger residential and light commercial; and the I-25 reaches commercial sports turf and parks with a 40–71 ft radius and a 50°–360° adjustable arc at 50–70 PSI. The compact PGJ covers shrub and short-throw spots (40°–360°, 1/2 in inlet).

Picking the right nozzle is the primary lever for matching a rotor to its zone. For the I-25 commercial rotor, see our Hunter I-25 Nozzle Chart. It lists radius and flow at 60 PSI for every standard nozzle, from Hunter’s LIT-471 spec sheet, plus the three-step nozzle swap.
