Ball Valves

A ball valve is a quarter-turn shutoff for isolating part of an irrigation or plumbing line. Full flow when open, positive shutoff when closed. Most here are PVC (Dura is the staple) in slip, threaded, and union patterns for schedule 40 and 80 pipe, with brass and Lo-Torque models too. Ball valve vs gate valve: a ball valve seals with a quarter turn and resists seat wear, which is why it is the modern choice for an irrigation shutoff.

Install a ball valve as a zone or mainline isolation point so you can service one section without draining the whole system. For solvent-weld connections, match the socket to your PVC fittings and pipe size.
