A lawn irrigation system delivers measured water across turf automatically. A controller runs the schedule and opens each zone’s valve, which feeds that zone’s heads, the spray heads for small or shaped areas and rotors for large open turf. Keep sprays and rotors in separate zones, since they apply water at different rates.
Group heads so each zone’s flow stays within your supply’s available GPM, match every head in a zone to the same precipitation rate, and add a backflow preventer where code requires it.
