A channel (trench) drain is a long, narrow grated channel that captures sheet flow across driveways, patios, and pool decks. Use it anywhere water runs off a wide hard surface. It collects along its whole length and carries water to an outlet at one end.
Pick a grate load class for the traffic (foot, vehicle, or heavy) and a channel width that matches your flow. Many systems are modular, so you can join sections to span the run and tie into your drain line with standard fittings. Install it by trenching the run, setting the channel to a slight slope toward the outlet, and locking the grates in.
