How to Choose a Pressure Regulator

Drip emitters are designed for low pressure, usually 25 to 40 PSI. A pressure regulator drops your higher supply pressure to a fixed outlet value so emitters don’t blow off the tubing or mist. Pick the regulator’s rated PSI to match your dripline or emitter spec.

Regulators are also rated for a flow range in GPM — run them inside that range or the outlet pressure drifts. Install the regulator downstream of the filter, since debris can stick the regulating mechanism.
