How to choose a hand shovel

Hand shovels - trowels, transplanters, and scoops - are the planting tools for digging holes, setting bulbs and transplants, and moving soil by hand. A narrow transplanter blade slices into tight spaces, while a wider trowel or scoop moves more material per stroke.

Stainless-steel heads dig cleaner and will not rust, and a cushioned grip eases repetitive digging. Several Corona trowels offer an ExtendaHANDLE option for extra reach. Pair them with a cultivator for full bed prep.
