Choosing GCI landscape fabric
GCI (Ground Cover Industries) makes professional landscape and filter fabrics, and the catalog here is organized by grade. Lighter Eco and Gardener's Choice grades suit homeowner beds, while heavier Architect's and Contractor's Choice grades stand up to stone, traffic, and drainage use.
Fabric weight in ounces is the spec that matters - roughly 1.5 to 2 oz for beds and 3 to 4 oz where puncture resistance counts. Rolls come in 3 ft and 4 ft widths and lengths to 100 ft. Overlap seams several inches and pin the edges.
